[edit]Anne Stanhope is buried in the church at Shelford. Look at Nottinghamshire history site. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.41.74.120 (talk • contribs) .

==What was Anne Stanhope's exact birthdate?==jeanne (talk) 14:35, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
This information is incorrect. The Anne Stanhope buried in Shelford is Anne Rawson Stanhope (see http://www.nottshistory.org.uk/fellows1907/shelford.htm), the wife of Sir Michael Stanhope, the half sister of Anne Stanhope Seymour. Anne Rawson Stanhope died on 20 February 1587. Anne Stanhope Seymour died on 16 April 1587.Johntbro (talk) 03:46, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Fictional Statement
[edit]Whomever put this into the article obviously watched too much of the Showtime show The Tudors. This statement is not true and is thus being taken out of the article, thank you. There were some rumours at the court of King Henry VIII about Anne. She was rumoured to sleep with many men, including Sir Francis Bryan and Thomas Seymour (her brother-in-law). She was also rumoured to have an illegitimate child, who was named Thomas, with Thomas Seymour. This is purely a fictitious story that was made up for the show, The Tudors. -- Lady Meg (talk) 09:13, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Queen Katherine Parr
[edit]Hi Surtsicna,
Since you're again revising the way in which Henry VIII's six wives are referred to on Wikipedia (as you did just now with this article), I'd like to draw to your attention the fact that the RS cited in the article has the title Queen Katherine Parr:
- Anthony Martienssen, Queen Katherine Parr, McGraw-Hill Book Co., New York, St. Louis, San Francisco, Düsseldorf, Mexico, 1973 ISBN 0-07-040610-3
I refer to this because of the lengthy discussion recently at DYK in which you insisted that the use of Queen Anne Boleyn was impermissible on Wikipedia.
I don't want to get into that discussion again, and I don't object to the edit you made to this article, but I do feel you need to rethink your insistence that it is impermissible to refer to Henry VIII's six wives on Wikipedia as Queen Anne Boleyn, Queen Katherine Parr, etc., as reliable sources do routinely refer to them in that way, and if you wish to have Wikipedia refer to them otherwise, you need to get consensus for your version in the Wikipedia Manual of Style, as I said in the DYK discussion. Date of Birth
[edit]Far be it for me to question the reference given - an obscure writer in the 19th century version of People Magazine - but how could Anne Stanhope be born in 1497 and have children born as late as 1552 in the absence of modern medicine? In fact, how did she manage to marry so late in life with the dowry she had? I suspect the 1845 writer mistook her for her aunt. 206.45.138.178 (talk) 01:02, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
I agree that the childbirth dates make Anne's estimated birth year suspicious, but her mother Elizabeth Bourchier was supposedly born around 1473 yet gave birth to her last child in the 1520s when she would have been 50 years old or more. It's not impossible, though it sounds unlikely. Maybe the women in her family had longlived fertility. It does happen. History Lunatic (talk) 06:47, 29 October 2016 (UTC)History Lunatic
I'm also puzzled by the range of birthdates. In one place the article claims "born @ 1497", then shortly after, "likely born in 1510." While I can understand the date will probably never be known for certain, having such disparity within so few lines isn't helpful. Carolecamp (talk) 06:47, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
"During her husband's time as Lord Protector she claimed precedence over the dowager queen Catherine." This statement, whether or not you're trying to imply that only she claimed precedence--it is false. She had no precedence over the Dowager Queen Catherine. In fact, Anne was to be considered, according to Henry's will under the Dowager Queen, Lady Mary, Lady Elizabeth, Anne of Cleves, and then Anne. There has to be a way to make that statement seem as those SHE tried to claim precedence and in fact, failed. -- Lady Meg (talk) 20:22, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Date of birth
[edit]Tomb monument states she died aged 90 years (XC) on 16 April 1587 which would make her date of birth c. 1497 and not 1510. 2603:6000:A700:C73A:2D08:8172:8452:BCF1 (talk) 16:24, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
Wrong daughter in law named in article
[edit]The article says that Anne bequeathed a piece of jewelry to her daughter in law, and the article names her as Katherine. However, Katherine had died years earlier, in 1568. When Anne died, that son was married to his second wife, Frances. "In her will Anne Seymour bequeathed to her "daughter of Hertford" (her daughter-in-law), Lady Katherine Grey, a fair tablet or locket "to wear with antique work on one side, and a rose of diamonds on the other"." 2600:1700:BC01:9B0:544F:E012:2320:EFE4 (talk) 00:17, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
